Wow, Peter, great minds must spec alike. I put that same video card in
my system (assembled over last Thanksgiving weekend), along with the
P4C800-E Deluxe motherboard and Antec SX1040B II case per the previous
thread. I've had no problems at all. Here's a tip, though. If you're
going to use the mobo's onboard sound with that AIW 9800 video card, I
recommend you jump the video card's CD OUT to the AUX IN audio connector
on the ASUS motherboard. That way you can reconfigure the external
audio in jack to power a rear pair of speakers in a four speaker
arrangment. Otherwise you have to plug the audio lead of the capture cable
(the one that runs to your camcorder) into that jack and will only be able
to drive a pair of front speakers. The internal CD-style cable required
to do this is a bit hard to find--it has to have identical, four-pin
female connectors on each end. And, please remember to unmute and turn up
the gain on the SoundMax AUX recording port when you do video capture so
that sound gets captured as well as video.
