p4c800 deluxe - problem with sound

My question is quite simple...

If a cd starts up in windows it kills the sound from winamp, media player
etc.. Its impossible to hear anything at all from the onboard soundcard.
It seems like the sound gets muted for good when a cd starts up in windows.
No matter what I do after the sound has disappeared I cannot get it back
unless I reboot.

What is happening and what have I done wrong?


Another question;

After a lot of fiddling with the onboard 3com network adapter I got the
latest drivers (1.0.0.46) installed tonight and atm it seems to work fine.
No disconnections from net so far. What is your experiences with these
drivers?

It seems like I have found the reason. It only happens when it's the asus-
cd which autostarts in windows. The sound doesnt get muted when all other
different kinds of cds autostarts. Weird...
