Hi, I have a Asus P4B266-C motherboard, and I'm wondering what is the
fastest cpu I can put in this board? I currently have a 1.9 GHZ CPU, would
the $130 or so dollars make it worth my while to upgrade this to something
in the 2.5 GHZ range? I'd like to get another year out of this computer
before upgrading all together.

Thanks

It depends one what you use the computer for, but I don't think a 2.5-
or 2.6-GHz CPU would improve things enough over a 1.9GHz to be
worthwhile. A 512MB memory upgrade (DDR400 or higher, so you could use
it in your new system next year) would probably be a better way to spend
$130. But this all depends on the rest of the specs of your current
machine and what it is you do with it.

Thanks for confirming what I thought Lachoneus. I think I will just wait
until I upgrade.

Thanks Again,

Hi,

I hope you don't mind jumping in here. Just checking - DDR400 SDRAM will
work in this motherboard?

I am stuck with 2 x 256 266mhz memory so to upgrade I am going to have to
lose one of these. I was thinking of getting a 1 gig stick and retaining one
of the 256mb stcks. Can I mix DDR400 and the 266 memory?

Many thanks
