After flashing my bios with Asus Update the MB didn't boot anymore
first I've 1 long beep and 2 short beep (no VGA card ???)

5 second after, little beep everytime ???

I try to do a Boot Bios rescue floppy, but not work ???

I try to find a Jumper to force the bios recovery but no luck.

Anyone see something else to do before I put it ti the trash ??

Thank
Tof

Hi!

I can remember a flash session on a T2P4 TritonII MB. VGA worked but
the I/O did not work any more.
The only solution was a ISA Multi I/O controller wich I inserted and
flashed the correct BIOS back.

Maybe you could try a ISA VGA. It might work!

Call Asus bios dept at 502-271-6907 and to get a replacement bios chip or
have it reflashed. They'll reflash for $5 (for the return postage) or
replace for $20 (I think). My bios got zapped and I sent it in to get
reflashed. Hope to get it soon. They actually answer phones and they work
out of Louisville, KY.

Thank for all your advice, I leave in France and send the card In the
US and Back for France will be more than the price a "new" one on ebay
.....

I will try the PCI video Tips, if nothing apend I will buy a new one on
ebay :(, and think before flashing a soldered bios

Thank you for your help

Hi!

You could also try it at your local electronic store. Maybe they can
flash you the BIOS with an eprommer.
You have to remove the BIOS Eprom from the Mainboard and get a copy of
the correct BIOS file on a Floppy Disquette. I don´t know if this is
possible with P4 Boards, maybe the Eprom is not socketed!

Returning the whole MB to the service, would be then the only solution.

My last reply to you was not helpful, as the P4B has no ISA BUS
anymore, just in the Chipset but not phisically!!! Maybe it is prepared
but not completed-soldered, like in AMD Athlon Boards I saw, with ISA
BUS Sockets prepared to solder on.

P.S.: Have you tried to reset the BIOS with the Clear CMOS Jumper on
the MB?

Thank again for your advice, I try the electronic store, but they are
not very usefull, they ask me about 40 € (should be 35 $) for a PLCC
extractor, when I ask for flashing the bios, they ask what type of PIC
it was .....
I find one on ebay for 30 € inc PP (and this one have the lan
connecor ...)
When I have more free time I will unsoldered the bios and put a PLCC
socket ...

I try to reset the bios but no luck :(

Best Regards,
Christophe
