Does anybody know how I can switch off the audio chip on my Asus P4B 533-E
mainboard?

You guys do have a manual don't you? Page 4-25. Onboard AC97 Audio
Controller: [Auto] = Onboard automatically shut off if a sound card is
detected; [Disabled] = Shut it off.

If you don't have a manual, download one from www.asus.com
