I have a number of 20Gb & 40Gb drives & would like to make use of them
in the main home pc for storing photo's, videos, music etc in one
place.

Anyone suggest any reasonable options?

An ASUS P4P800 Deluxe could handle up to 8 IDE drives, and two SATA drives.
Its a couple years old.  Socket 478 P4

Newer 775 boards, youd need to add a couple of Promise EIDE controllers or
something like that

With the ability to buy a 500GB IDE drive for $60 online, why bother with
those 40GB drives?

Thanks Dave,John & GMAN,

I will look out for cheap PCI cards & ASUS P4P800 on ebay etc.
GMAN.. I did think myself about the falling prices & higher disk size
but I hate throwing working stuff away & if I can get the PCI cards
cheap enough it would serve my needs.
