ASUS p4p800-vm. A good integrated solution for low budget but
still comes with nice features: Socket478 for Celerons or PIV CPUs,
4 DDR memory slots(2 dual channel), 400-533-800MHz Front Side Bus,
2 Serial ATA channels, up to 8 USB ports (4 already integrated), integrated
LAN-6 channel audio-Video (video memory is derived from system RAM and
is adjustable in the BIOS from 4 to up to 32Mb), USB 2.0 support, good BIOS
features, among those my favorite is the one wich lets me choose the state that
the computer will be after the power comes back from an AC power outage:
on-off-Last State. I've choosen "last state" since this machine will eventually be
used as my web and FTP server running 24hrs a day. I've tested the feature and
it works great.

Nonetheless, to be honest, the board seems to be more designed for Win 2000/XP
even if they clearly state that it works with Win98SE. And also note that this board
is not intended at all for overclockers and other power users, since theres NO jumpers
or BIOS settings for those who like to set the CPU clock rate multiplier. Paid the board
169.95$ here in Montréal-Québec.It's not the cheapest, but i was interested in the fact
that i didn't had to purchase seperately a sound and video card as it's the case with
many motherboards.

$169 is nowhere near £50.
