P4 3,06 and i845E

Hi !

I have Abit IT7 motherboard, i845E chipset.
I have P4 Northwood 2,26 (533MHz bus)
I am thinkink about trying P4 3,06 533MHz Northwood with HT
Now, I know i wont be able to use HT, but I was thinking that it will be
the only possible upgrade for a low cost.
I just don't know if this motherboard will work with this CPU at all.

Is here someone who knows something about that configuration?

I've got an ABIT BD7II-RAID MoBo (also i845 chipset) which succesfully run
my P4 3,06 533FSB CPU.
And Yes, HT is running well, I upgraded BIOS of the MoBo to the most recent
one. There are no problems.

I suppose, if there is the same chipset, the same mobo manufacturer, this
CPU model will run with HT as well on your machine. Am i wrong?
