Hi
Are there two versions of this CPU one with HT and the other without HT?
I found a retailer selling this cpu cheap (no heat sink/fan) but it
doesn't say if it is a HT version or not. Should I be concerned?
Thank You all

You can look up information on processors, at

http://processorfinder.intel.com

You can use the order code or the SSPEC (SLxxx) to look up the
processor. If it is a 3.06/FSB533/512KB cache, they should all
be Hyperthreading, but unfortunately, the processorfinder entry
for the six processors fitting that description, do not all have
the same notes section in their description. The person coding the
entries got lazy, and didn't copy and paste the notes from one to
another. So, I cannot prove it to you. And, I don't know if there
are any other processors that fit the same spec or not (i.e. like
a Mobile processor SL77P).

The Intel pricelist no longer lists that processor, so I suppose
they are end of stock items.

Thanks for the info. I have called intel and spoke to a tech support. I
was assured that there is only one version of 3.06 cpu and they all are
HT . That said I was also told I could come across a fake 3.06 and
unless purchased from a well known retailer would not be able to get
tech support or exchange. I hope that a well known retailer wouldn't be
risking their reputation by selling fakes. Newegg doesn't price match
with others but having good experience with them I went with the order
anyway. Besides , that low price I mentioned above sounds to good to be
true.
Once again thanks.
