USB2 cards should usually work fine. Preferably use something with NEC
chip, these appear pretty much trouble free.

AFAIK it should work, but SLOW. Something like half an hour per GB or so.

I spoke with Apple and they said the file transfers between the USB 2.0 and
the Ipod is extremely quick. Are you saying it is "SLOW" because of the
motherboard?

I thought 2.0 allows for a fast transfer of data.

He's saying slow because if you connected it via your onboard USB, it'd be
transferring in USB 1.1 mode which is very slow.

If you got a USB 2.0 add on card though, it should be full speed.

how much do these cost.. approx.

Don't remember, around 30 EUR or so?
Do I remove the usb port that my the asus came with?

Of course not! You can still use the onboard ports for low-bandwidth
devices.
