Hello,
What is the fastest cpu that a b3p-f motherboard can handle ?
The manual says "450Mhz and faster". Does has tested with a 1Ghz CPU or
fastest if it exist in slot 1 ?
Thank you in advance.
Laurent.
You could check out the PL-iP3/T. Check the compatibility list on
the website, to see what works. A cheap upgrade is the "PL-iP3/T
1.4GHz Intel Celeron $119", which uses a 1.4GHz/100MHz/256KB
cache Tualatin and the slocket has its own voltage regulator. If you
like to overclock, you could also use a lower speed module with a
100MHz FSB, and overclock the FSB, to get more memory bandwidth for
your upgrade. You need memory rated for the speed of your overclock.

Buying some CAS2 memory will also help your performance. If you
go to Crucial.com and check their memory upgrades for Asus
motherboards, frequently CAS2 memory is the same price as the
slower CAS3 memory.
While there are many other ways to upgrade, finding parts cheap
enough to make it worthwhile is now difficult.
There have also been at least three posts in recent days in this
newsgroup, on upgrading 440BX type motherboards, so check back in this
group and read those posts as well.
