Hi,
i have a p2l97, vers 2.04 mb and i'm happy with it all the time :-))
It's in a SCSI-only machine and so the original BIOS which was coming
with it was ok! Think is 0105.
Now i will connect a big IDE-drive, a maxtor 120GB. The installed BIOS
will not recognize it. I set the 32GB Cap.Limit jumper and i see now
the drive and the 32GB only. So the first point is: i have to update
the BIOS to use the whole diskspace, _but_: i need SCSI, because the
boot-sequenz is SCSI first!
I got the information that the newer BIOS wouldn't have SCSI-support
any longer. The box has an Adaptec 2940UW in it. Is this relevant for
me?
What BISO version must i use to be able: to boot SCSI first and use
the full size of my 120GB IDE disk?
Thanks a lot!
Cheers Peter

The ftp-link will not be available, is there an other chance?

Oh boy, a pre-ACPI BIOS...

This is wrong. It only no longer has an SDMS BIOS for NCR/Symbios
controllers with no BIOS of their own.

Any SCSI HA with a BIOS of its own should work fine.
Thanks Henno!

Use an FTP client with passive mode disabled; last time I checked WS-FTP
LE worked with ftp.asuscom.de that way. No idea why access via a web
browser is so flaky.

Hi Stephan!

I'm sorry, but can't get a connection to ft.asuscom.de :-(
I tried it with a ftp-client (Esker) and with the ftp-program of
Windows 98FE, user anonymous and the password my e-mail adress, but
was always swaped out with the error 230.

here what happens:
C:\WINDOWS>ftp
Ftp> open ftp.asuscom.de
Verbindung mit ftp.asuscom.de.
220 Serv-U FTP Server v5.0 for WinSock ready...
Benutzer (ftp.asuscom.de:(none)): anonymous
331 User name okay, please send complete E-mail address as password.
Kennwort:
230-
Verbindung beendet durch Remote-Host.
Ftp>

Any tips?

Thanks!
Cheers Peter
