I have accidentally overwritten the normal template, and a
document is now saved over it. How can I delete this
document and be able to access a BLANK New Doc?

You didn't mention what application is involved. I'll assume that we're
talking about some version of Microsoft Word. With Word closed, click
Start > Search > For files or folders, and search for normal.dot. It
should be in something similar to "C:\Documents and
Settings\{Username}\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates". In the search
window, rename normal.dot to normal.old. Now open Word, which will create
a new normal.dot. If this solves your problem and there's nothing you
need to recover from the old one, delete normal.old.

Questions about Word are best asked in a group which discusses Microsoft
Office. This one is for new users of Windows 2000.
