Overwriting files

I have concluded from reading the forum responses that NTSC and DV-AVI are
recommended as providing the best quality movie file capture. My two
questions are:
1) Am I correct in my understanding, and if so why does MM2 'recommend' PAL
and wmv.?

2) I have recently used the 'recommended' file capture but if 1) is correct
then I want to change to DV-AVI and NTSC. Do I need to delete the current
file (which is unedited) or can I download again and overwrite the existing
file?

The DV-AVI part is correct for capturing... but it's only from a digital
camcorder when using a firewire connection. Capturing from analog sources is
to WMV files.

It you have an NTSC camcorder, that's the right format to capture... if it's
a PAL one, use that. It varies by the country. For example, I'm in the
United States so I work in NTSC.... people in England work in PAL.
