Overwriting file rather than appending on submit

I would like to use a frontpage form where someone could enter a short
message, then on submit take the form entry and push it to a file where
that file could be included in another page (I want to secure the entry
page). Right now my form will only append on the end of the file.
Also is there an easy way to include a text file as a banner on a page
using frontpage and apply formatting to the text. Thanks much in
advance.

Look for a Content Manager addin like Content Seed
