overriding my home page

I have a problem were I set my home page as google.com
and it is constantly being overwritten by
globalwebsearch.com. I have tried everything to find out
why. Also, porno sites then show up on my favorites
listing.
Does anyone know why this would be. I have windows xp. I
have the firwall set and have anti virus software.

I am stumped.

Debra,

You need to download one or other or even both these programmes to get rid
of what could be spyware or other visitors. Adaware 6 or Spybot. Use your
Google search engine to find them quite easily. You will then have to
update them and scan your machine. Would advise you do a bit of homework on
these programmes first. I am sure they will solve your problem between
them. Have you kept your Virus Checker up to date with downloads of current
viruses ?

Your problem with the homepage being overridden may be due
to a piece of spyware the high-jacks your browser and does
what it wants with it. I recommend you go to download.com
and try downloading spybot. It may also be a one time
thing. Delete the unwanted favourites in the favourites
menu and empty them from the recycle bin.

Navigate to the SpyBot S&D section.

Install, reboot, read FAQ and overview, use online update feature to obtain the
latest reference files, scan for Spyware much like you would with your
pre-installed anti-virus scanner.
Rid your machine of unwanted Spyware pests.
