Override timed animation

In PowerPoint 2000, you could override a timed animation sequence just by
clicking and the next animated object would come in (if for example you were
faster talking and didn't want to wait for the timed object to come in..).
In XP/2003/2007 this now seems to just finish the animation sequence rather
than just progress earlier into the sequence..

For example.. 3 objects fly in automatically one after the other with 5
seconds delay. I want to click before 5 seconds to progress onto the second
object and then still continue through the sequence using the remaining
timings..

Hi Rachel

Animations changed significantly with version 2002/XP and have pretty much
stayed the same ever since. I actually prefer the behaviour you describe,
but that is by-the-by :-). In 2002/XP, clicking the mouse before an
animation has finished will finish all animation up to the next mouse click
in the sequence - so if you have 4 'on click' events on the slide you will
need to click the mouse 4 times regardless. If however you have say 4
entrance animations set to 'after previous' or 'with previous' and spaced
out along the time line (i.e. with delayed starts), clicking the mouse will
take you to the end state of all those animations.

MS have 3 training courses on animation which are well worth a look if you
are new to the new version's animation:

If you have a specific question about how to achieve something, please come
back and let us know which version you are using.
