overloading the server

I recently inherited a few small stand alone networks used
in a development environment. I'm starting to think that
we are asking too much of the server. We have a W2k
Server that is the DC, DNS server, WINS server, and DHCP
server (for 4 VxWorks machines - the rest are all static
IPs). The network consists of 13 W2k Pro, WinNT, W2k
Server, and the VxWorks computers.

Sometimes things seem really slow on the DC and on other
computers as well. Are there too many services running on
the DC and could this be effecting the performance of
other computers on the network as well?

thanks

For that small number of computers, it is highly unlikely you're overloading
the server. Nonetheless, you can use performance monitor on the server
(start>run>perfmon.msc), and add counters for disk i/o, memory, cpu, and
network. If values there are really high, perhaps you are overloading.

Feel free to post numbers from a performance trace, and I and others here
can advise.
