again after the install of the Anti-virus program wen tbad.. i killed windows
and deleted the partition on the drive and created a new one.
my computer is built for gaming. it can handle doom 3 and Dawn of War and
other such demanding games no sweat. not usually... but now i can't even play
a simple Age of Empires with out my system processor overheating. it upsets
me... and i don't know what to do... standard use the processor is about 120
F or so... the system alerts me if i exceed 155 F simply running a great game
called RecWar will kill my computer i mean i got it up to 157 F and i got the
message. and it took a while to make the heat go away. RecWar is NOT that
demaning of a game. fairly simple program actually. but the best solution i
could think of was maybe the cpu fan may have been gimped. so i ordered a
fanless heatsink tower so we will see how that goes.

Have you verified ALL fans are working properly?
All power supplies, many processors and video cards have fans.
Also cases often have additional fans.
Clean all the dust out of case and components including the fans.

What changed from when it was working properly?
You need to determine what changed.

the only thing that changed was that i installed an antivirus proggy on my
computer and it basically made it so i couldn't strt the computer. so i wiped
the HDD clean and fresh installed. seemed to work just fine. but then i come
to find out my processor is overheating. all fans work. do they need to be
pointed in oposite directions? i mean what directions should i have the fans
pointing... two in front and one in back. thank you

no definately not overclocking. the processor speed is the same as when i
built the computer. 2.8E GHz HT P4 478 socket
