Overflow inTEXTAREA controls in data access pages

Is there a control that can be used in Access data access
pages that duplicates the overflow behavior of INPUT
TYPE=TEXT? I can't find a way to turn off the multi-line
overflow behavior in the TEXTAREA controls that Access
uses, and our users want to see the more familiar
behavior of an INPUT TYPE=TEXT control for single-line
data entry fields. The forms are never big enough to
provide for the maximum length of each field.

Let me rephrase this in the hopes of getting a reply. I
have unbound text entry fields in my data access page.
When the entered data overflows the width of the field, I
want the excess characters to appear by using the left or
right arrow keys, or the Home or End keys. Instead, the
TEXTAREA fields overflow to a second line, which requires
vertical scrolling. How do I force this back to one line
with horizontal scrolling?
