When i input data into a cell, can i fix it so it doesn't
overflow the adjacent but empty cell? Thanks.
overflow the adjacent but empty cell? Thanks.

You could enter a space character in the adjacent cell, so it appears
empty, but will stop the overflow.

An alternative to Debra's very-easy-to-implement suggestion is to
format the cell for 'wrap text' (Format | Cells... | Alignment tab) and
then reduce the row height (maybe, even set it to the default of
12.75).
