I have Samsung PC3200 (2 x 512) memory. When o/c should the memory run
synchronously with FSB? e.g. FSB 225 Memory 225. Or can the memory run
asynchronously? e.g FSB 225 Memory 200

Thanks

Set FSB to 266, Memory to 133, HT to 3x. That should give you 2400MHz.
or
Set FSB to 233, Memory to 166, HT to 4x. That should give you 2100MHz.

Assuming the default cpu multiplier is 9x200 for 1800MHz.

Thanks Wes,

But wont I take a serious performance hit runnning the memory at 166
or 133?

Not in real world apps. If you are concerned about it, get some DDR266 ram.:-)
That'll make memory benchmarks higher, but not much else. The ram bus will
increase with the FSB speed. You might even be able to use 166Mhz base
both ways. Depends on how good your PC3200 ram is.

Thanks again Wes,

Did as you said. But it appears that when i set the FSB to 240 my
memory runs at 198. Can I just keep adjusting the FSB until the system
looks up. Or should I leave the FSB at 233 or 266 only?

You can set it to whatever you want within the limits of your hardware.
