Overclockers.co.uk packaging standards

Hi

I am wondering what packaging Overclockers.co.uk generally uses when sending
out graphics cards to customers. Does it use the graphics card's box in a
jiffy bag method or does it wrap the card's box in 2" thick all-round bubble
wrap or foam all placed in a cardboard box? What's your experince?
Apparently Overclockers.co.uk claims the latter.

Always a good idea to check out komplett http://www.komplett.co.uk
They are quite often cheaper for the UK customers in my experience. They also package well :)

If you are after cheap then www.scan.co.uk www.ebuyer.com or
www.chillblast.com are all worth a view.

Komplett are very good at what they do, but, like Dabs.com, they
charge alot more than the ones mentioned above.

PS I have have not problems with any of the dealer I mentioned, and I
recommend them all.

Yes ebuyer are good too and scan, also tekheads

I generally use one of the uk price search engines to search these sites
(and a number of others) for the cheapest price :

Having been told they wouldn't provide a 30 day account time ago when I was
looking to buy stuff for a school (no chance of the school/LEA going broke),
I refuse to use them. Their inflexibility at that time was offputting to say
the least! They may have changed in the time since but according to the
reviews here: http://www.romulus2.com/feedback/chart.php?1&1 , they're way
down the list in terms of customer satisfaction.

Even if they package the item well, is it still worth the risk?

Stuff I had off them recently has been well packaged, using that row of air
filled bags thing to pack the outer box.

Yeah, my 9800PRO came 3 weeks ago in a fairly large cardboard box with
one of those sheets of huge pockets of air around it.
My PSU came 1 week ago in a Jiffy bag, but that came in a damn sturdy
box from the manufacturer anyway. So it'd depend on the packaging and
type of the item being shipped, I think. Graphics cards should all come
very well packaged.
 
TAKE MY ADVICE
Don't touch overclockers with a barge pole.
They screwed me around so bad, i was without a pc for weeks and they were
totally uninterested in sorting out the complete mess they made. No phone
calls answered, no emails replied to. And this was because they insisted
they had sent out something i had ordered when they hadnt, and when they did
it was totally wrong.
I had to travel hundreds of miles on a roundtrip and confront them
personally to get my goods.
Steer well clear of this shambolic outfit.
 
Ditto. I built a pc for a housemate of mine from scratch, buying all the
bits from them. They sent 2 incorrect items (RAM and graphics), and one
that didn't work at all (fortunatly this was only the floppy, but hey).
It took about 3 - 4 weeks to even get them to give me an RMA. I use Dabs
and Tekheads now.
 
I have ordered several items through Overclockers and my experience has been
nothing but positive.

But one company i would advise folks to stay away from is Frozencpu.com

Read the all the negative feeback on resellerratings.com, about how the
owner, Mark, speaks to people on the phone. Guys even taped the
conversations so as people could listen and be in no doubt about the
unprofessional attitude of the staff.
