Hi,
I'm getting an error message every time i power down and power up:
Overclock Failed! Please enter Setup to re-configure your system.
Thing is, i'm pretty sure it's not overclocked
Brand new parts
------------------
P4P800 motherboard
P4-2.4Ghz.
2X 512MB DDR/400 Single Channel Memory
(tried with single piece, same problem)
Asus DVD+-/RW/ Asus Ti4200 Video Card
If i do a reset, the error message doesn't come up. If i power
down/power up, message comes up.
I've tried moving the ram over a couple slots (ie, both in blue
slots, both in A-slot group), nope. always same problem.
However, i do believe that when i put both pieces of ram in the A
series(ie, first piece in blue, 2nd piece in black slot), it
dropped it down to single channel mode instead of detecting as
dual channel during post.
The only thing i could find was in german, which altavista
translates as:
"That your board tried, itself over clocks, and which went wrong.
The board notices that the over clocking did not fold (because it
did not start any longer), shifts back for the next start on
default values - and does not say you answer that it does not
hang-strike has. "
Advice?
Thanks, jody
