Over clocking?

OK guys and girls.I have not had the confidence to over clock so I ask a question to all you knowledgeable people!;) One of my spare systems is listed below.Now can I take it up to say? 2000 MHz with out any problems developing:o FSB is 333MHz.I know it says Maximum Clock 2250 MHz but I just want to make sure.

Then just do the same as you done with that one ;)

For a very simple overclock, you can use Clockgen, by the same folks who gave us CPU-Z, to increase FSB within Windows.

Using this program, increase FSB until your system freezes, crashes or reboots, remember your fsb setting, then set that number minus a few in the BIOS.

From there, you can mess around with memory settings and use Clockgen again and by trial and error find your best setting.

If your XP2000 is unlocked, you can also experiment with multiplier/fsb settings.

I'd say if you got up to 1.9Ghz with a 1.6Ghz XP CPU, you're doing well. But it all depends on which CPU you got, some were better than others at overclocking.

And keep an eye on your temps.

Note that not all motherboards are covered.
 
From my experience, the XP2000 doesn't overclock that well (if it's a locked one)

We have one in the media centre here (it was in my sisters machine) and we tried OCing it, couldnt get higher than 1.7 stable.

Stuck a Duron 1.4 Unlocked in... and hey presto, 2.02GHz Stable!
