Hello all:

Our internal domain is sherwoodmechanical.com, and our website is at
www.sherwoodmechanical.com and being hosted by a different company. I tried
to set a new delegation in DNS to point to the external web server address of
where our site is hosted, however, this redirects people from
www.sherwoodmechanical.com to www.sherwoodmechanical.com/exchage since we
have OWA setup.

What we need is just to be able to access the website from within our
internal network.

Thanks,

To access the external website, on your internal DNS under your zone, create
a www record and give it the external website's IP address. To access the
website without www would take a couple reg entries, but those reg entries
will affect domain communicaton and is not recommended. You could redirect
the default site on ALL your DCs to www.sherwoodmechanical.com so they can
get to it without the www portion.

If you want, you can create a whole new zone called
www.sherwoodmechanical.com under your DNS and give it a blank record with
the IP of the external website. I think what you did is may have
misadvertenly given it the IP of your own DNS servers, hence why it maybe
sending them to Exchange';s site. Normally anything like this wouldn't know
how to get to a subfolder (such as the /exchange folder), so I'm not exactly
sure how you did that, unless you also did that in IIS properties.
