I have a macro, which is in Access 2007, that outputs a query result as a
text file. The output of the data has dashes surrounding each line of data.
How can the data be exported without the dashes and a header? If the query is
ran and then using the export feature, it works like intended, it is only
adding the dashes when a the macro is ran. Thanks for any help.

Jim,

Run it manually as an export, and when you get to the final step of the
export wizard, click the 'Advanced' button. There you will see the
facility to save your steps as a Specificaction. Then, enter this in
the Specification Name argument of your macro.

Steve, Thank you for your assistance. This is what I did: Instead of using
Output to, instead used TransferText. All Macros are not listed in Access
2007 by default, so one must select the button to Show All Macros, in the
Show/Hide ribbon area. By doing this, all Macros are listed the way it is
shown in previous versions which shows the TransferText action. Another
change using this Action(Please remember I'm using 2007), I had to place the
database in a "Trusted Location". This was a chore in itself, but one has to
select the Office Button located in the top left corner, go to Access Option,
Trust Center. Trust Center Settings, Trusted Location, and Add a Trusted
Location.

Very good, Jim.

Since you didn't give details of what you were doing in your original
post, I had assumed that you were using TransferText action anyway.

Good also that you are starting to become familiar with some of the
other features of Access 2007.
