Outpost.com & PC Connection = BS

Well, over the past month I put in pre-orders for an X800 Pro and an
X800XT, both at pre-order sale prices. Gave up on Outpost after it
became clear they had NO intention of honoring their price, just said
it was on back-order with little chance of ever shipping.. PC
Connection (the XT) sold it with 2-4 week delivery, but as soon as the
order went through changed it to "Backorder", then after 3 weeks told
me ATI may "never ship the X800 XT" and I should back-order an X800
Pro because "its really the same card"... oh, and that THEY had to
cancel my order for the XT (for $464.00).. of course they have an ad
for the XT at $549 !!

This is getting old, gonna wait for the XT to go into stock or get a
6800 Ultra.. and it will be from NewEgg, the only vendor that I seem
to get a straight answer from!

And to top it off - a final note from PC Connection:
"As I was reading your note below, I got the official word that ATI
will not be releasing this item because they were not able to make it
work at full yield. They just could not make it have the speed to
qualify as a "pro" version. Again, I apologize for this situation and
the frustration and inconvenience you have been caused."

The "note below" was my response from customer support re: the bozo
telling me about the Pro being the same as the XT and saying ATI
wasn't going to sell XTs..the "pro" version referred to is the XT.

Wow.. I'm surprised a somewhat well known retailer, PC Connection has
morons like that working for them. Yikes. IF you don't want to spend
the extra money on the XT, I can recommend this place which has the
PRO in stock.. $394.
