Outlook2K does not unload

Sometimes O2K doesn't unload properly. That is when i
close it as usual and it disappears from the taskbar. But
in taskmanager, it shows in the process list and I have to
manually shut down the process.

This does'nt always happen, but almost once every day. It
is making problems when I start O2K again. If the previous
O2K is in memory, the new O2K don't start. And then I hvae
two instances of outlook.exe in my tasklist (not showing
in running applications) where the first is using about 20
MB RAM and the second is using only 1.2 MB RAM.

Anyone had the same problem or knows how to solve it?

I have the same problem. I've linked mine to occurring only if I send, or
reply to, an e-mail. I do not get this behavior in OE, but I only use OE for
newsgroups. I have scanned my system for viruses, parasites and hidden
programs and am clean for all the above. One possibility is an update
security patch I recently installed, but I'm not sure which one. I am
running Win2K with SP-3 and other patches, except for .NET related patches.
I have heard some strange reports about SP-4 keeping an open connection for
autoupdates and will not be installing that one until I am sure of it. My
guess is one of the stand alone security patches I installed is one that is
rolled into SP-4 is causing the behavior we are seeing.
