I am running WinXPHome on a HPDimension4550 (~2.5GHz, 1 G RAM). I have
MSOfficePro97 installed and bought MSOutlook2003 for the extra capability for
downloading POP3 e-mail. After installing it, it will run ONCE, but will not
load / run on a second launch without either reinstalling it or "repairing"
it; the hourglass is up for 10-15 seconds and returns to the regular cursor
with no launch. I have tried different levels of installation, from minimal
to complete: no difference except with the complete installation,
CiceroUIWndFramer refuses to shut down (apparently part of a voice and hand
recognition software not installed with lower levels of installation.).
My concern is, are Off97 and Outlook2003 "incompatible" because they are so
far apart in development versions?? Are their "common" or "shared"
components (DLLs etc) that might not be backward compatible or forward usable
that prevents the program to relaunch?? I really didn't plan to buy Off2003,
but if someone can tell me that's what I need to do because there is no other
solution, I will do it.
Thanks. njmeatball
