What is the difference between Outlook and Outlook
Express? My computer came with express. Is it worth
changing to Outlook?
Despite the similarity of their names, Outlook and Outlook
Express are two very different programs. This is a frequent
source of confusion and, in my view, Microsoft did us all a
disservice by giving such similar names to two such dissimilar
programs.
Outlook is a Personal Information Manager, including Calendar,
Task List, Contact Manager, Notes, Journal, etc. It also does
E-mail.
Outlook Express is an Email client and newsreader. It has no
Personal Information Manager capability. The capabilities of the
two overlap only in a single area--E-mail.
