Hi,

I am using Outlook 2003 and when I close it I am unable to re open it. It is still running in task manager is there any way I can fix this problem.


I have Office Pro 2003 with sp3 and all the latest updates as well. I have also reinstalled Office 2003 pro still nothing.


Can you please help me on this problem above.

I don't use Outlook, so can't help there, but your HJT log is clean. :thumb:

wizkid - just try something for me:


Reboot, disable Kaspersky7 for a moment and then try opening/closing Outlook and see if it still ocurs :thumb:
 
Hi Adywebb

Just rebooted computer and disabled Kaspersky and seems to be the same

Also I am having problems with restarting my pc it seems to hang when I try to restart or close down I need to press the reset button could Outlook be doing this.

Hmmmm, seems that Windows is struggling to stop Outlook before it can shut down.....


Seems there may be a corruption or software clash somewhere - have you installed or updated any software recently or XP updates just before this problem occured?
 
Hi,

I have installed Nero 8, Windows Updates and Azureus Vuze

Would it do any good rooling back the system about a week to see if that would help?

Does it only have problems restarting after loading Outlook?

Try loading it in safe mode (by holding shift when you start outlook), and then do a repair check from the help menu. I'm not sure what it is called in 2003 (detect and repair perhaps?), it's called "office diagnostics" in 2007.

It has problems restarting and shuting down.

I have ran Outlook in Safe Mode and it still seems to be the same.
