what is the problem.. i have set both the software same..... all the
settings are same...

Shakeel Ahmad..

Sounds like one of the settings isn't the same. Go into Control Panel |
Mail and triple-check your profile settings, especially your server
settings.

Also check and see if your firewall (Windows XP firewall, Norton Internet
security or whatever) is configured to allow Outlook access to the Internet.

Task 'Gmail - Receiving' reported error (0x80040900) : 'The server name you
entered can not be found on the network (it might be down temporarily).
Please verify that you are online and that the server name is correct.'
---------------------------------
Task 'Gmail - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC7D) : 'Your outgoing (SMTP)
server does not support SSL-secured connections. If SSL-secured connections
have worked in the past, contact your server administrator or Internet
service provider (ISP).'

I get both of those messages quite regularly using Outlook 2003 with
gmail. If I wait, the problem goes away. I've always assumed that they
indicated problems with the gmail servers. The gmail notifier and gmail
itself (in my browser) has about the same number of problems contacting
the server, which certainly reinforces my assumption that there is
nothing wrong in Outlook.

Of course, if it never works, then you've missed one of the setup steps
- gmail has some very explicit requirements for your server settings
that are definitely *not* the standard/default ones. They are well
documented on the gmail site (well enough to get me working, anyway).
