Ok - so I'm getting better with the VISTA finally got the network working now
I need to set up my email. I currently use outlook but I guess from the
posts here - VISTA does not use outlook? So I cannot load it into VISTA at
all and expect it to work? What about the messages I currently have on
outlook - sent, received and saved as well as my contacts?? Can they all
just be moved over????

I'm affraid I'm not too hot on the older versions, and perhaps someone else
(in time) may be able to answer your question straight away). However, if you
type OUTLOOK into the search box (just above) and press Enter, there seems to
be a lot of similar questions / resolutions, and these may answer your query
right now.

Hope you find your answer.

Outlook will work with Vista, especially if it is Outlook 2003 or later.
Outlook is a separate program which is part of the Office suite, but
it is not included for free with the Windows operating system.
If you have the Office install CD then you can install it in Vista.

Further down inanother post - some Microsoft Person says outlook will not
run on VISTA?????

What is the subject title of that post?
I am very confident in saying that Outlook 2003 or later will
run perfectly on Vista.

People have had problems with versions below 2003, but Outlook 2003 and 2007
run fine on Vista.

Thank YOU.
There is another guy selling a program for 14.95 ......... upsetting spend
all this money on a new system and all the things that were great about it
were eliminated. I need security of passwords for 5 different business
emails and 2 personal. Not to mention if they all come to one email then I
am compelled to conduct business on the weekend.

Please, resend this post every few days for new users. Wish Gates would
step up to the plate and offer a free download. Not like he can't afford it.
Maybe its time for some blast emails.

As I understand it, you are out of luck. Microsoft Tech told me you can only
transfer Outlook Express, not Outlook.

If you really mean Outlook and not Outlook Express...

copy the .pst file from your old computer to the new one
Open Outlook on the new computer and open the .pst file.

Please let me know if this works. I wasn't able to find or copy the .pst
file on my XP machine. I know it was there but Outlook would not allow me to
do anything with it.

You should be able to if you shut Outlook down first..
Or open Outlook and export to a file, call it vista.pst or something...

I think I tried all that, Dave.. I had Dell support on the line at the time.
Outlook did not have a Export feature like Outlook Express has. At leased
not on MY old XP machine.

You can always transfer ANY mail in Outlook to Outlook Express and then
transfer
that to another system if needed.
