does anyone have a freeware patch or file which will allow me to read
attachments to my email. I have tried MS knowledge base and have added an
entry to registry exactly as instructed to do..with no noticeable effect. I
am able to open and read pdf's but little else.

any tip would be helpful alhtough I am not optomistic about me successfully
achieving even rudimentary improvements absent a self installing file of
somekind which will do it for me...

sometimes it is discouraging...

Norm,

If you wish to receive and read attachments in OE (outlook express) goto
Tools | Options | Security and un-click the Do Not Allow Attachments to be
saved or opened that could be a virus.

I wana to thank everyone who helped me. Needless to say, my request for
help was wrong. The error message had something to do with "forms" . I
mudded about "on my own" and found some potential knowledge base help but
not the REAL help I acutally I needed.

One of these days I will ask for help correctly. when I referred to outlook
xp I was referring to outlook 2002 not oe...

Again, thank everyone for your generous efforts. I'll try again when I can
find the exact error message...
