Outlook xp version

I have tried to add the OUT oF OFFICE option to my Outlook
but nothing happens. What am I doing wrong. I have
followed the instructions in help, but it does not work.
Any suggestions? I do not have Exchange Server>

Are you connected to an Exchange Server? If not you will not have that
option.

Be aware however, that to emulate the OOOA effectively you have to have your
internet connection always on and you have to leave Outlook always open
while you are away.
