Hi,

does anyone know in which registry key Outlook 2002 ( Office XP ) stores the
e-mail
account settings ??

Any help is very much appreciated.

Thank you.

Tom

Hi Sparker9,

thanks for your reply. I currently have 4 e-mail accounts configured, but
there is no reference about these accounts in the registry entry you
suggested below.

Where are they hiding ??? LOL LOL

Any other suggestions ?

Thanks for helping.

Tom

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\OMI Account
Manager\Accounts

Strange...Try doing a Search for one of the IDs, that's how I found mine.

I'm running Win2K Pro.

Hi Sparker9,

well, I did that too. I tried to search for almost everything ( login name,
pop server, smtp server, name, account name, etc. ) but not ONE key refers
to anything. That is really, really strange.

Do you think Outlook XP 2002 stores the e-mail account settings in a file
rather then in the registry ??

I really appreciate you help. Thanks.

Cheers,

Tom

I believe they reside in the key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows
Messaging Subsystem\Profiles\Outlook
I'm not aware of such a file.

I checked with the experts at the Slipstick Systems website and they say the
same thing, i.e., "Account information is held in the user's Windows
registry, not in a file.".

See this link for more info:

Hi Sparker9 and Conrad !!

Yup, that did the trick. My accounts are stored in the registry key Conrad
wrote below :

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows
Messaging Subsystem\Profiles\Outlook

Finally I found them.

Thanks to great help from both of you.

Thanks again,

Have a great weekend.

Tom
