A friend of mine is going out of town for a few days and wants to set up a
custom message (saying that he's out of the office, etc...) to automatically
be sent to everyone who sends him email. How do I do this?
Thanks.

If he is using POP or IMAP mail accounts, use Rules Wizard to create an
auto response rule. If he is using Microsoft Exchange, use Out of
Office auto reply feature.

To add to what Alex said, it is not a good idea to use an auto-responder if
you are not using Exchange. Reason? Spammers will receive confirmation
that they have a live one and will inundate your mailbox. Your
auto-response will go out to even more spammers. When you get back, your
mailbox could very well be over limit with spam and no expected mail.
