Outlook XP Email settings

Recently installed Outlook XP (and all upgrades) on new Dell desktop running
Windows Vista OS. When configuring Outlook for Gmail POP3 server, my password
will not remain on the "Internet E-mail Settings" screen despite selecting
the "Remember Password" box. Exhausted all Gmail solutions and feel it's an
Outlook application problem. Have no problems with Outlook XP on my laptop,
which is running Windows XP. Any help? Thanks.
 
Dahlilama,
Known issue with using MS Outlook XP/2002, and earlier versions of MS
Outlook, with MS Vista. The only working fix is to upgrade to MS Outlook
2003/2007. It does not appear that there will be a fix anytime soon or ever.
