When I try to send an email to a contact in my contacts folder I can't just
select it from the address book. I have to look in contacts and right click
, send mail message. I just reinstalled outlook after a clean reinstall of
my win98 machine. It has to be something I did wrong setting up profiles??
I only have one profile called outlook.

You need to add or reconfigure the Outlook Address Book Service.
Go to Tools | E-mail accounts, select "View or change existing directories
or address books", and click OK. If you don't see the OAB in the Directories
and Address Books list, click the Back button, then select "Add a new
directory or address book", then "Additional Address Books", and add the
OAB. Then keep clicking Back until you get back to the first dialog box,
and go back to the Directories and Address Books list as you did earlier.
Once the OAB appears in the list, select it and then click Change to make
sure the Contacts folder(s) you want to display are listed. If any of them
aren't listed, you'll need to enable those Contacts folders as Outlook
Address Books by right clicking the folder, selecting Properties, clicking
the Outlook Address Book tab, and checking the "Show this folder as an
E-mail address book" box. Make sure you restart Outlook after making these
changes.

Right Click on the CONTACTS folder
Select PROPERTIES
Select the OUTLOOK ADDRESS BOOK tab
Turn on the check mark next to "Show this folder
as an email address book"

What if the checkbox is disabled? I have been trying to accomplish this, and followed all instructions from both Russ and Nikki, but I CANNOT access the checkbox next to "Show this folder as an email address book."
What's the problem? THANKS

If the checkbox is not active, you have not added the Outlook Address Book
Service to your profile correctly. Look over the instructions again.

I'm having the same problem w XP/Outlook 2003.
What am I not doing within the profiles configuration?
