Outlook won't stop loading AIM at startup (and yes, I did change the option)

I know this seems like a simple problem, but when I load
Outlook Express (came with Windows XP on my new Compaq
laptop), it keeps loading AIM at startup even though I've
unchecked the box in the options menu.

I had to turn off the automatic login option inside AIM
because everytime I check my email I log onto AIM, so at
least this way the program loads but can't log in.

I noticed though that even when I set the automatic login
in AIM to OFF, if I check the box in Outlook Express and
tell it to log onto AIM when Outlook is run, it will
still log into my AIM account.

How do I get this damn thing to stop loading?

Did you try uninstalling it? control panel, add/remove software

You need both options disabled.
