Outlook Won't Start - Processes Still Running

Quite often when I click on the Outlook icon to start it,
nothing happens. If I press Alt+Ctrl+Del and check under
the Processes tab, there are usuall a few outlook.exe
entries there. If I end the process, Oitlook starts ok.
But then it happens again.

I think one of the things that causes this is if Outlook
is not open and I send an email from a website address.
This just opens up a new email window and not Outlook.
Somehow this seems to start a process which doesn't stop
and then later Outlook won't open.

I have Windows XP Professional.

Any ideas?

Do you have a PDA or fax software installed as well? Often, this will keep
Outlook TSR as well.
