I posted in the Outlook forum not knowing any better and got scolded so I'm
sending this issue here. When I try to author, forward or add a cc or bcc to
an email message by clicking on the to, cc or bcc the programs locks up.

I have tried creating a new profile and put a single contact in the new
profile and the same thing happens.

I've tried the repair route a couple of time including syncpst.exe and that
doesn't make any difference in behavior.

I imported the pst and bcm into a notebook running the same software as on
the computer with the problem and that computer does not have the same
problem.

I did not have this problem until the past couple of weeks. It worked as
expected priro to that.

Any suggestions?

I'm not sure about that scolding, as there isn't an indication that
BCM's the problem, apart from being installed. It's Outlook that send
emails. Sounds like an Outlook address book problem, and BCM does make
its contacts accessible to the address book.

Are there any other things that don't work?

When you say that you created a new profile and a single contact, and
it again locked up, was that an Outlook contact or a Business Contact?

Everything else about the program works fine.

When I created the new profile I added one contact via clicking on the
Contacts bar at the lower left hand corner list of options (Mail, Calendar,
Contacts, Tasks and Notes).

I'm guessing from your description that you created an Outlook
Contact.

When you created a new profile, and restarted Outlook, did you get the
BCM first use wizard, which asks you to create a new, or attach to an
existing, BCM database? Which did you choose?

I did not want to deal with the existing database since I was concerned it
may be the problem so I started anew.

I haven't run into this before, BCM and Outlook working, except for
the Outlook address book locking up. Perhaps there's some address book
setting that's pointing to the wrong place, but I'm not familiar with
it. If no one else here has any suggestions, you could try Microsoft
support.

Thanks Luther. I have noticed the same problem posted several times in the
Outlook forum which is why I started there, but none on the threads showed
that there was any resolution to the problem. I'm not certain I'll try
support from Microsoft because I have never had any luck on other issues
going directly to them.
