When I check my email in Windows Mail the window comes up with the details
portion open all the time.
When I was using Outlook Express I could get it to reset without the
details portion if I closed Outlook Express and then opend it up again.
This does not work in Windows Mail. You have to be fast and catch it to
make the details go away.

OK, you have to be quick if it is not checking many accounts, so be quick
and click the pushpin in the bottom left corner, then remove the details
section and it should not show again?

Ok, thanks for the information MAC.

Well Mac that did not work, the Window stays open now and will not go away
after the accounts are checked.

Mac that did not solve the problem, now the window stays open after the
accounts have been checked.

Yes, it does, when it has ended checking for mail, hit Details then hit the
Acorn, then hit details again, close the dialogue, and you should be where
you want to be next time you check mail?

Ok I will try that, why do they make it so complicated now. They need to
go back to Outlook Express.
Are you an expert on Windows Vista?

Not all of it, but newsgroups do exist for the appropriate question
regarding the various parts of Vista.

Thanks, I will check the other areas first before I ask you.
Thanks again for the information, I will let you know if your last
information works.

Ray

Mac, I do need to ask you what you mean by Acorn?

Ray

The pushpin that you hit earlier (Bottom right) is now an Acorn.

When it has ended checking for mail, hit Details then hit the
Acorn, then hit details again, close the dialogue with the X, and you should
be where
you want to be next time you check mail?

Steve, I have treid that, but my problem is that when I close Windows
Mail and open Windows Mail again I am right back to the same thing with the
detail portion open. It never stay closed if I close Windows Mail and
reopens it.

Ray

I have the exact same issue, if an error accures during checking for new mail
the details message box appears, if i click on details the details box is
removed, but, as soon as i close Windows Mail and start it again the details
box is back, it doesn't matter what i do i can't get rid if the details box
permanantly, there is only one way to get rid of the details box and that is
to restore my system with Acronis True Image, it's driving me crazy.

Please help!
