Using Vista and IE 7, have encountered issue with Outllo Web Access using
2003 server.

Users report able to login but when trying to send / reply to emails the pop
up window that normally has the To and message fields are just the red X in
the top corner.

Anyone else seen this?

XP and IE 6 work fine.

Nope, the window does open but just has a red X in it like you get when a
picture doesn't display on a website. I think it may be a script problem or
security setting

You're probably right. Did any security settings in IE on Vista change? Is
there any other kind of security software installed?

It is a known issue. There is an OWA patch for the exchange server that
needs to be applied. It is due to a deprecated Active X control.

I always get worried when I see posts pointing to this problem as it tells
us there is at least one public facing IIS & Exchange server out there which
probably hasn't been patched since November last year. I'll make lots of
exceptions for home users who just don't know better but there really is no
excuse for a business to be running around with web facing servers unpatched
for that long.

go to your options tab in outlook web access and install S/MIME under the
e-mail security tab. This will let you send e-mails but I am still having
issues with internet explore shutting itself down when replying or sending
e-mails.

Best thing is download Netscape Navigator from the internet and start
accessing your OWA. it works fine.

Your network admin would need to install an update from microsoft that will
take care of this issue. This is by design, according to MS.
