I have cable internet service through Comcast that only
supports Outlook Express for e-mail. I want to use
Outlook 2002 as my contact manager but any time I attempt
to open it, it wants to become my primary e-mail service
and locks up. I think this may in part, be due to not
being connected to a phone line.

Is there some way to disable Outlook as an E-mail server
and use it solely as a contact manager? I have been
using a Day Timers program but they've discontinued
support for it.

Thanks for any input.

Comcast only supports OE, because they are not knowledgable about OL, it
doesnt mean that OL wont function with comcast.
If you dont want to use OL for mail, ensure you have no mail accounts set up
in it. Ensure also that OL is not configured to check for msgs on starting
etc.
