Outlook vs. Office 2007 Beta Failure

I had a failed 2007 Beta installation from which I eventually recovered for
the most part.

I am back to using Office 2003 and everything works as expected. The only
exception is that within Outlook I am unable to open individual contacts. I
can, though, delete data from a contact with the exception of a contact's
email address.

Can anyone help me restore the functionality of my Outlook contacts?

Try a new mail profile.

What happens when you try to open a contact? If you can delete data, doesn't that mean you can open the item to see the data to delete?

When I set up a new profile, do I need to add a new directory or address book
or change any existing directories or address books?

I notice they are choices that come up when I begin to create a new mail
profile.

I can see the data in a contact, and I can delete -- without opening the
contact -- such information as an address or telephone number. If I try to
open the contact, though, Outlook shuts down, sends an error message and then
reboots.
