Outlook, VPN and Error Code (0x8004011D)

I am getting this Error Message:
Task 'Microsoft Exchange Server' reported error (0x8004011D) : 'The server
is not available. Contact your administrator if this condition persists.'
when trying to connect to the Exchange server at the office.

My IT Guys tell me that the IP address is resolving to the external IP
address rather than the internal address. All other servers are resolving
correctly.

This began when I upgraded my router at home to the Apple Airport Extreme.
My LinkSys had begun to drop the internet connection on a regular basis so I
needed to replace it. WHEN the LinkSys was working I did not have this
problem. Everything was resolving as it should.
In a Google search of "(0x8004011D), VPN" I have found several instances of
the apparent same problem with airport and other routers but no resolutions.

Can anyone help out there?

I'm using a Dell Precision M20 with XP Pro v2002 SP2 and Outlook 2003 SP2.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
