I am seeing a situation where Outlook 2007 running on Vista throws a
warning and in the same situation, Outlook 2003 running on XP does
not. The warning is:
“The server you are connected to is using a security certificate that
cannon be verified. A certificate chain processed, but terminated in
a root certificate which is not trusted by the trust provider.”
In both cases the Outlook client is connecting to Exchange 2007 as the
outgoing SMTP server. The Exchange server is using a self-signed
certificate for SMTP. And the certificate has been installed on the
client PCs with the certificate store location automatically chosen by
the Certificate Import Wizard.
Any ideas regarding why the Vista/Outlook 2007 combo would be throwing
this warning while the XP/Outlook 2003 combo does not?
Thanks,
