Mr B

I thought I saw this psoted but I can't find it now....

When I open up Outlook, it starts trying to access my A drive over and over for some unknown reason.
Anyone know what the heck it's looking for? When I close Outlook the noises the drive makes when
there's no disk in it stop. Then when I open it back up again, they start again.

What the hell is it doing?

Thanks.

Got an anti-virus program? Is it scanning your e-mails?

I hadn't even set up any email addresses yet. Soon as I opened the
program to start setting it up my A drive starting looking for a
disk. It didn't seem to affect anything but was just really weird.

Some anti-virus programs run as a transparent proxy so they don't need
to modify any e-mail account settings or even try to. Make sure e-mail
scanning is disabled in your anti-virus program.

Also, you can use the Mail applet in Control Panel to define your e-mail
accounts rather than having to use Outlook to do the same thing.

Have you tried starting Outlook in safe mode ("outlook.exe /safe")?
